Kate has been sewing professionally since the 80s and started teaching around 1995, sharing her knowledge and encouraging students to develop confidence in their own creativity. From your first stitch to mastering more complex patterns and techniques, Kate provides patient, expert instruction tailored to every skill level. In her studio, traditional sewing methods meet contemporary style, creating a welcoming space where students can learn, grow, and bring their own creative ideas to life.

Founded in 2015, our studio has grown into a creative space for sewists of all skill levels. Under the guidance of our lead instructor, Kate, we provide a warm, encouraging environment where students can learn, create, and build confidence one stitch at a time.
Kate brings 40 years of sewing expertise to every class. As a master sewist and passionate educator, she has been teaching the art of sewing since 1995, helping hundreds of students discover the joy and confidence that comes from creating beautiful pieces with their own hands.

Expert Instruction
Classic Sewing is led by Kate, who brings decades of professional experience in tailoring, quilting, sewing, and design.
We also welcome guest instructors to host classes and workshops in a variety of creative disciplines, including tailoring, quilting, fiber art, hand embroidery, crochet, weaving, knitting, and more. Instructors are encouraged to share what they love and bring their own expertise to the studio.
Diverse Curriculum
1.5 hours, to 10 hour per month adult courses. We also offer special workshops like Jumpstart for all interests.
